I am a Biology major and pre-med student in the Pennoni Honors College at Drexel University, where I attend on a full-tuition academic scholarship and maintain a 3.95 GPA while balancing a rigorous science-heavy course load. My coursework includes biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and math-based science courses. This academic background has given me a strong foundation in both math and science, as well as firsthand experience with the study skills needed to succeed in challenging classes.
Outside of class, I am involved in research, tutoring, volunteering, and student leadership. I conduct research in a microbiology and immunology lab, where I study topics related to viral reactivation, molecular biology, and protein analysis. I am also involved in TriBeta Biological Honor Society, Pi Lambda Phi fraternity leadership, and the Childhood Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation. Balancing these commitments while maintaining strong grades has taught me how to manage time, stay organized, and study efficiently. These are the same skills I try to pass on to my students.
My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and focused on building confidence. In college, I have helped first-year college students understand introductory biology concepts, prepare for exams, and improve their study strategies. I also have experience working with younger students through volunteer and leadership roles. When I tutor, I break difficult topics into smaller steps, use practice problems and examples, and help students understand the reasoning behind each answer. My goal is not just to help students finish an assignment, but to help them feel more confident in math and science overall.
