I'm a sophomore at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Finance. My coursework covers a broad range of quantitative and analytical subjects, including statistics, regression modeling, financial accounting, corporate finance, and calculus. Beyond the classroom, I built a live algorithmic trading system and completed a quantitative research internship at the University of Sydney, which gave me a strong applied foundation in data analysis and mathematical reasoning. I'm also a Wharton Research Scholar, currently conducting independent research on investment banking in global shipping markets.
I've spent a good amount of time helping peers and younger students work through tough concepts in math, finance, and economics. My approach is pretty straightforward — I focus on breaking things down into simple, intuitive explanations rather than just walking through formulas. I find that most students struggle not because the material is inherently hard, but because it's taught in a way that feels abstract or disconnected. I try to bridge that gap by using real examples and walking through problems step by step until the reasoning clicks, not just the answer. I'm comfortable working one on one or in small groups, and I adapt based on where the student is starting from.
I'm best suited to tutor high school and college-level students in subjects like algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, introductory programming, and finance or accounting fundamentals. Growing up between Croatia and China gave me a natural ability to communicate across different backgrounds and learning styles, which I think makes a real difference when working with students who approach problems differently. I'm patient, direct, and genuinely enjoy helping people get better at subjects that once felt out of reach.
