I am a classically trained opera singer with a Bachelor of Music from Hunter College and a Master of Music from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, though my music studies began when I was six years old. I started music directing musicals and choirs when I was 16, and later spent four years leading my college choir and a cappella group. In addition to my academic training, I have taught private voice lessons for six years, working with singers of different ages and experience levels. My background includes extensive work with classical voice and opera repertoire as well as lyric diction in Italian, German, and French.
In lessons, I focus on building a strong technical foundation while helping students connect musically and emotionally with the repertoire they sing. My teaching style is highly individualized, and I adapt each lesson plan to meet the student’s goals, interests, and learning style. Whether a student is preparing auditions, developing vocal technique, improving diction and language skills, or simply exploring their voice, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and discovering what makes singing exciting for them. I believe learning should be engaging and fun while still developing healthy, sustainable vocal technique.
I am especially passionate about sharing classical voice and opera with younger singers and showing them that opera is not a dying art, but a vibrant and powerful form of storytelling that continues to inspire audiences today. My goal is to help each student discover their unique voice, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to grow as expressive and thoughtful performers.
