Hello, My Name is Joe and I am tutor specializing in Math and Physics.
I attended Penn State University where I graduated cum laude with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I started working in engineering right after graduating in 2021. I worked in both Buffalo New York and New York City in construction related mechanical and civil engineering. My job included a lot of hands-on problem solving, as well as lectures and seminars for engineering firms related to my areas of expertise. While I enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of my job, my favorite part was the teaching. It was this passion that led me to quit my job and pursue a degree and full-time career in education.
I have been tutoring in Math and Science since college where I volunteered as a tutor in Math (Calculus I and II, differential equations), physics, chemistry, and economics. In my professional life I also did tutoring (both paid and volunteer) in high school math - mainly SAT math, calculus, precalc, trigonometry, and geometry.
My goal as a tutor is to engage students with practical examples that build a base of understanding in order to emphasize outcomes. To that end I think it is very valuable to understand a student's goals and ambitions so that I can carefully put together a study plan to achieve them together.
