Hi Everyone! My name is Brandon and here is a little bit about myself. For starters, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ursinus College with a B.S. in Applied Physics, and I am currently completing graduate study at Drexel University, having earned my first Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering and now pursuing a second Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
I am a first-generation college student, so I understand firsthand how intimidating academic expectations can feel, and I’m intentional about making the learning process clear, structured, and approachable. My approach is problem-solution oriented and centered on teaching students repeatable processes. I start by identifying what is not working, demonstrate an effective technique, explain the reasoning behind it, and then guide the student as they apply and adapt that technique to their own assignment.
My past experience as a tutor includes four years as a college writing tutor at Ursinus College, as well as tutoring elementary school students during my junior and senior years of both high school and college. In these roles, I supported students with a wide range of writing needs, including research papers, analytical essays, lab reports, application/personal statements, and citation formats such as MLA and APA. My sessions are structured to be one-on-one in an online setting so I can prioritize my focus and attention on the student and what they need most. I’m comfortable working with any student as long as they are motivated to learn and improve.
