I am a psychology major at La Salle University and have experience mentoring high school students who are taking college-level courses through programs like Community College of Philadelphia’s Academic Mentor program and Peer Group Connections. In this role, I helped students navigate challenging coursework, develop study habits, and build confidence in their academic abilities. Working with high school students in a college-level setting has taught me how to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt my approach to each student’s individual learning style.
My tutoring approach is supportive, personalized, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I encourage questions, provide clear explanations, and work with students to develop strategies for organization, time management, and test preparation. My goal is for students to feel confident in their abilities and to gain tools they can use independently in future learning.
Through these experiences, I have worked with students in one-on-one and small group settings, which has helped me understand the challenges students face when transitioning to more advanced academic material. While I am still early in my tutoring career, I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed. I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to reach their goals.
