American Sign Language tutoring:
I have been tutoring American Sign Language for the past eight years, working with learners across the lifespan, including elementary-aged students, college learners, and adults wanting to learn ASL later in life. During my undergraduate studies, I earned a degree in Psychology and completed a certificate in American Sign Language, where I studied ASL Levels 1–4, Deaf culture, and ASL grammar. My background in both language and human behavior allows me to teach ASL in a way that is accessible, culturally informed, and rooted in clear linguistic foundations.

In addition to tutoring, I spent several years teaching 4th grade virtually during the pandemic and later taught 5th-grade math in the classroom. Those years deepened my skill in differentiating instruction and scaffolding lessons for students with diverse learning styles. I prioritize patience, clarity, and adaptability so that every learner feels supported and confident in their progress.

Personal statement & application coaching:
For over two years, I have also supported students with medical school and graduate program applications, including personal statements, secondary essays, and AMCAS/AACOMAS activities. As a member of my medical school’s admissions committee, I have firsthand insight into what distinguishes a strong applicant and how compelling narratives are structured. I help students/applicants brainstorm, refine, and elevate their writing so their experiences, values, and goals come through clearly and authentically.

My coaching approach is individualized and collaborative. I work closely with each student to shape a narrative that is polished, meaningful, and true to their voice. Whether you’re navigating your first draft or looking for higher-level revisions, I can help you produce writing that stands out while still feeling genuinely yours!

Elementary (K-6th)

I taught 4th grade all subjects and 5th grade math, preparing my students using Maryland state examining guidelines to ensure they were ready for end-of-year assessments. I collaborated closely with education specialists who coached me in effective instructional strategies and data-driven teaching. Throughout my teaching experience, I worked extensively with English language learners and students receiving special education services. I am skilled in differentiating instruction and scaffolding lessons to meet the diverse academic and learning needs of all students.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I’m highly qualified to serve as a medical school interview tutor, drawing on my experience serving on my institution’s medical school admissions committee, where I worked closely with leadership, deans, and faculty interviewers to understand what our program truly values in applicants. In this role, I not only interviewed applicants myself but also trained other students to conduct interviews in a way that aligned with our school’s mission and selection criteria. Over the years, I’ve supported many students and applicants through their journeys to medical school, helping them strengthen their narratives, refine their communication skills, and present themselves authentically and effectively. This combination of direct admissions involvement, mentorship, and insight into what makes a strong candidate allows me to offer tailored, strategic, and adequately informed interview preparation.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I have over five years of experience helping students craft strong Common Application essays for college, guiding them through brainstorming, outlining, and refining their narratives. In recent years, I expanded my support to medical school applicants by providing detailed edits to their personal statements, secondary essays, and AMCAS activities sections. I have served on my medical school’s admissions committee as a student interviewer and ambassador and work closely with admissions advisors, giving me firsthand insight into what makes an applicant stand out. My approach focuses on helping students communicate their experiences clearly, authentically, and effectively so their stories leave a lasting impact.
Psychology

Psychology

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, where I completed coursework in areas such as personality psychology, social psychology, conflict resolution, and advanced psychopathology. These courses gave me a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, interpersonal dynamics, and mental health conditions. In medical school, I have continued to expand my knowledge through psychiatry, gaining deeper insight into diagnostic frameworks and the medications used to treat various mental health disorders. This combined academic and clinical background allows me to break down psychological concepts clearly and support students at a wide range of learning levels.
Sign Language

Sign Language

I have been tutoring American Sign Language for over eight years, beginning with elementary-aged students as young as 3rd grade. Over time, I expanded my work to include high school and college students, supporting many college learners with their assignments while they were enrolled in ASL courses. I have also worked with adults and older learners who began studying ASL due to hearing loss or simply for personal enrichment. My experience across age groups allows me to tailor instruction to each learner’s goals, skill level, and preferred learning style.
