Hello, my name is Shaqed. Welcome to my page!
If you are looking for a tutor who genuinely cares about helping students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and discover that learning can be enjoyable, I would love to work with you.
I graduated from Columbia University in 2024 with degrees in Neuroscience and Behavior and Religious Studies, and I have been tutoring for over seven years. I have worked with students of all ages—from elementary schoolers grasping foundational concepts to high school students tackling advanced coursework and standardized test prep. Most recently, I taught at a local private high school, which gave me deeper insight into how students learn and how to help them overcome obstacles both academically and emotionally.
One of my proudest moments was working with a student who came to me feeling defeated after scoring a 19 on the ACT. Together, we built a study plan tailored to their learning style, worked through practice tests strategically, and addressed not just content gaps but also test anxiety and time management. By the time they retook the exam, they had raised their score to a 30. That transformation was not just about points—it was about them realizing they were capable of far more than they believed.
My approach to tutoring is deeply individualized. Some students need step-by-step guidance and structured practice; others thrive with visual explanations or real-world examples that make abstract ideas click. I take time to understand how each student learns best, what motivates them, and what is holding them back, then design lessons around those insights. Whether you are struggling with a specific subject, preparing for an exam, or want to feel more confident, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you get where you want to be.
I specialize in math, biology, chemistry, neuroscience, Hebrew language, and ACT prep. If you are ready to feel more confident and capable, I would be honored to work with you!
