I am a lifelong educator with over a decade of tutoring and teaching experience, and I specialize in helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. I hold a Doctor of Education in Reading, Writing, and Literacy, as well as a Pennsylvania teaching certificate in English/Language Arts and Social Studies. My career has allowed me to work across middle school, high school, and university settings, teaching courses in literature, history, and writing. These experiences give me a deep understanding of the skills students need to succeed academically at every level.

Over the past ten years, I have tutored students from middle school through graduate school, supporting everything from emergent literacy development to advanced essay writing, research papers, and standardized test preparation. In addition to classroom teaching, I have worked one-on-one with students who need extra support, as well as those seeking enrichment and more advanced challenges. My approach is grounded in nurturing each student’s strengths, interests, and goals. I believe tutoring should not only build stronger academic skills but also greater confidence and independence in learning.

Families and students can expect my sessions to be highly personalized, original, structured, and encouraging. I take time to understand each learner’s unique needs, whether that means breaking down complex concepts, guiding them through close reading and analysis, or providing feedback that sharpens their writing. My goal is always to equip students with strategies they can apply long after our sessions end. With a blend of patience, expertise, and enthusiasm, I help students reach their fullest potential in English, writing, and literacy.

College Counseling

As a high school English teacher and college essay mentor, I’ve spent years guiding 11th and 12th graders through select stages of the college admissions process. My work includes helping students craft standout personal statements, prepare for standardized tests, and navigate application materials with clarity and confidence. I also draw on my experience writing dozens of personalized reference letters to help students identify and communicate their authentic strengths. My goal is to make the college process both empowering and organized so students feel supported from first draft to final submission.
High School Placement Test

High School Placement Test

Drawing on my experience in high school admissions for both independent schools and competitive public magnet programs, I bring a unique perspective to preparing students for high school placement tests. I understand what selective schools look for and how strong test performance fits into the larger admissions picture. I help students strengthen core skills, develop effective strategies, and build the confidence needed to showcase their abilities on test day.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As a high school English teacher and graduate-level instructor, I bring years of experience supporting students and professionals in crafting personal statements for college, graduate school, and career advancement. I have guided applicants through every stage of the process—from brainstorming authentic stories to polishing final drafts that stand out in competitive admissions cycles. My teaching background allows me to break down the writing process into clear, manageable steps, while also pushing writers to showcase their individuality, strengths, and goals with confidence.

As a high school English teacher and graduate instructor in literacy education, I have extensive experience preparing students for the Praxis exams. Thesis Writing

With over a decade of teaching and tutoring experience, I specialize in guiding students through every stage of thesis writing, from developing a strong research question to crafting a polished final draft. My doctoral training in Reading, Writing, and Literacy at the University of Pennsylvania informs an approach that blends structure with flexibility, ensuring students build clear arguments supported by strong evidence. I have worked with high school, undergraduate, and graduate students on long-form writing projects, providing detailed feedback on organization, clarity, and style. Sessions focus not only on improving the current draft but also on building transferable writing strategies for future academic success.
