Hi! I'm Zoe. I'm a theatre performer and educator based in the Philadelphia area with a background in reading, writing, and all things literature. Hi! I'm Zoe. I'm a theatre performer and educator based in the Philadelphia area with a background in reading, writing, and all things literature. I know firsthand that everyone's educational journey can look a little different; I spent three years pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at The University of the Arts prior to the institution's abrupt closure in the summer of 2024, and then transferred to Temple University where I completed my degree in the spring of 2025. During this time of transition and extreme uncertainty, it was my teachers that held up our community and ensured we would still reach success, even as their own jobs and livelihoods were changing. Their support during that period was instrumental, and a large reason why I found the strength to continue my educational journey. As a tutor and educator myself, my goal is to help students through obstacles so they can see that something great is waiting on the other side, and working through those hurdles will only make them stronger -- just as my teachers did for me.

I have about five years of experience working in education, largely within the performing arts industry. Most of my experience is with grades K-5, although I enjoy working with middle and high school students as well. I also have about 6 months of experience working in a college setting as a Teaching Assistant for an acting studio. Outside of the arts, I have an extensive background in reading, writing, and analyzing literature and history. As a student, I have always been highly academic and completed many Honors, AP, and IB classes throughout my middle and high school years. I was in the IB program all the way from my elementary years up until graduating high school, so I am familiar with the IB PYP, MYP, SL and HL curriculums.

I prioritize my students' wellbeing and employ an individualized approach to ensure that students not only achieve success, but feel confident in their own work and abilities. If you think we'd be a good fit, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

ACT English

I have many years of experience reading and writing in both academic and creative settings, and I scored a 34 and 32 on the Reading and English sections of the ACT, respectively. I have completed many high-level writing classes throughout my education, including the two-year IB HL English course during my latter high school years. Through these courses I attained strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, as well as the ability to annotate and edit work that is not my own. I love literature and have always been a big reader. I believe that reading and analysis is an incredibly important component of our development as humans, as it is how we learn to process the stories around us. My goal as an ACT tutor is to help students build confidence in their own skills and ensure they feel as prepared as possible for the test ahead of them.
