I’m a published author and journalist with a degree in Philosophy and Media Studies, and a minor in Anthropology from UC Berkeley. While at Cal, I served as Editor-in-Chief of The Berkeley Review, our campus literary magazine, and published a record number of pages and stories. I’ve also worked professionally as a copywriter and journalist, so I bring both academic rigor and real-world writing experience to my tutoring sessions.
I began tutoring informally while in college, helping peers with literature papers, personal statements, and creative work. Since graduating, I’ve worked one-on-one with high school and college students on everything from Common App essays and UC PIQs to grad school statements of purpose and advanced literature analysis. My approach is collaborative and empowering — I meet students where they’re at, then help them find clarity, voice, and structure.
As a reentry student from a nontraditional background, I understand how intimidating writing can be. But I also know firsthand that a well-told story can change your life — my own college essay earned me a 90% scholarship to UC Berkeley and got me into every school I applied to. Now, I help others do the same. Whether preparing for college, refining their essay skills, finding their creative voice, or diving deep into classics and literature, I’ll help students develop the confidence and clarity to make their writing shine.
