I'm Matt, I graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Computer Science, and am now pursuing an MD degree. Coming from a family of educators, I've found I too have a knack for spreading knowledge, and I gravitated towards clubs and opportunities for tutoring wherever I turned.
I was a tutor for the Princeton University Computer Science program, where I predominantly used questionary teaching to guide learners to their own answers. This emphasis allows students to think through their challenges, rather than just giving it to them. In medical school, over 3 years I have tutored in several clubs, predominantly teaching anatomy, both in hands-on environments in dissection labs as well as in classroom settings, where I would guide students through pertinent test material allowing them to succeed in their exams.
My devotion in teaching is that I want my learner to understand the material, not just memorize it. This allows them to apply the material in new scenarios, rather than regurgitate it. I reach this with my learners via the "see one, do one, teach one" method when possible. Furthermore, as previously mentioned, we learn better when we work through our challenges; I don't just hand my students answers, I guide them with questions and hints so that we can figure it out together. I'm not just here to improve grades. I'm here to improve learning. Feel free to contact me with any questions, and I look forward to meeting soon!
