I’ve been playing guitar almost 5 years now and spent the past three working with students of all ages and backgrounds whether it’s mastering challenging techniques, building foundational skills, or simply gaining the confidence to play the music they’ve always dreamed of. With a strong background in both electric and classical guitar, I specialize in a range of styles including metal, rock, bossa nova, progressive rock, progressive metal, and a little funk. This diversity allows me to help students explore their musical interests while developing a well rounded and technically solid foundation.
My tutoring style is highly adaptive. I take time to understand each student’s learning style and goals, whether that means breaking down advanced techniques into manageable steps. My knowledge of Portuguese also gives me a unique perspective, particularly when teaching improvisation and rhythmic phrasing in styles like bossa nova or Latin-influenced music and even metal or rock. I also tend to give a free extra 30 minutes because sometimes getting things in people's heads takes more than a set 60 minutes sometimes and I make sure you learn what you want to maximum efficiency. If you need me during the week if there's time I will hop in a class and help you with things we went over for that week free of charge if you're having trouble.
