With over eight years of experience in education, I’ve worked with students from Pre-K all the way through college-level courses, building a diverse and flexible skill set as a teacher, coach, and mentor. My journey has taken me through many roles, including Literacy Coach, Behavioral Aide, Lead Classroom Teacher, Computer Science Instructor, and currently, School Librarian and Media Specialist. These experiences have taught me how to meet learners where they are—academically, emotionally, and personally. As a certified educator and lifelong learner, I bring a strong academic foundation to my teaching. I earned my undergraduate degree through Western Governors University during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I went on to complete my Master’s in Urban Education at the University of Pennsylvania. My graduate work focused on educational equity, culturally responsive teaching, and the power of community-centered learning. I've also partnered with programs like the Freedom Schools and the Center for Black Educator Development in Philadelphia, experiences that have deepened my commitment to literacy, social justice, and student empowerment. Currently, I serve as a School Librarian and Media Specialist, where I guide students in developing research, reading, and digital literacy skills. I also have a background as a published author of both novels and poetry, which allows me to bring a creative and practical lens to reading and writing instruction. I love helping students not just understand texts, but also find their voice as writers—whether that means crafting essays, building arguments, or exploring creative expression.
My teaching style is rooted in empathy, patience, and relationship-building. I pride myself on creating safe, supportive environments where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. I’ve worked across multiple age groups and learning styles, so I know how to adapt lessons to fit each student’s unique strengths and needs.

Acting

Acting

I have a strong background in performance, with experience in local theater productions, musicals, and spoken word poetry. I’ve performed in community plays and staged readings, where I brought characters to life through expressive voice, movement, and storytelling. My poetry readings have allowed me to connect with audiences on a personal level, using rhythm, tone, and emotion to convey powerful messages. These experiences have sharpened my stage presence, confidence, and ability to engage diverse audiences through live performance.
Creative Writing

Creative Writing

As a creative writer, I’ve authored both novels and poetry that explore identity, emotion, and the human experience. I bring a deep understanding of narrative structure, voice, and imagery to my writing, with a strong focus on authenticity and impact. My background in education and performance also informs my writing style—helping me craft stories and poems that resonate with a wide range of readers. Whether mentoring young writers or drafting new work myself, I see writing as a powerful tool for self-expression, reflection, and social change.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

As a school librarian, I regularly lead workshops and presentations for both students and faculty on topics like digital literacy, research strategies, and the importance of diverse books in education. I’ve also spoken at community events and advocacy forums, promoting educational equity and the need for accessible resources in underserved neighborhoods. In collaboration with local organizations, I’ve delivered talks on literacy development and the role of libraries in fostering lifelong learning. These experiences have strengthened my ability to engage diverse audiences and inspire positive change through public speaking.
