Hello! My name is Albert, and I am pursuing a PhD in biology at an Ivy League university. I have a strong academic background in STEM, having taken numerous science and math courses and obtaining a Bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. During high school, I earned top scores on standardized exams, including a 1560 on the SAT (790 Math, 760 Reading), a 35 on the ACT (36 Math, 35 Science, 35 English, 34 Reading), and 5s on AP Biology and AP Calculus. Throughout high school and college, I have consistently performed at a high level in STEM courses, receiving at least an A- in most of my STEM classes. Having firsthand experience as a student in the topics that I tutor, I am familiar with the challenges that students commonly face, and can help them overcome these obstacles and better understand the subject material.
My passion for the math and sciences has helped me extensively explore these subjects, and has been vital in helping me become an effective tutor. I have a few years of experience tutoring students ranging from middle school to college, and includes one-on-one tutoring and informal mentoring of my peers. What sets me apart as a tutor is my commitment to making sure students fully understand the material, whether it is providing additional resources to reinforce learning, adapting my teaching style to match the student's learning style, or supporting them outside of tutoring sessions. I am also happy to answer questions regarding the process for applying to undergraduate schools and graduate schools.
