Hello! My name is Angelina, and I am a current medical student at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. During my own application cycle, I received 8 interview offers, including 3 at "Top 15" programs. Out of the 7 interviews I attended, I was offered admission to 6. I did this with no existing connections and no physicians in my family—not because of any sort of magic, but because I realized over time that there is real strategy involved in applying to medical school, and skills that can be learned and honed just as much as taking the MCAT.

I know exactly how challenging and intimidating the medical school application process is, and I am passionate about providing applicants of all backgrounds and ages the support they need to achieve their dreams and maximize their potential. I assist students comprehensively with all aspects of the admissions process, including:

- General application strategy: How can your unique experiences be synthesized into a cohesive, and competitive, story?
- School list strategy: Are you creating a school list that will set you up for success?
- Creating compelling personal statements and secondary essays: Is your writing effectively showcasing who you are and what you bring to the table as a future physician?
- Interview preparation: How do you tackle difficult questions and present yourself as a future colleague/classmate?

In addition to having served as a medical student interviewer, I have a background of over 650 hours of paid tutoring experience at NYU's University Learning Center, helping students tackle subjects such as Organic Chemistry, Molecular Biology, and Physics. In this role, I amassed a wealth of experience in working with a variety of student backgrounds and personalities, and finding the best teaching strategy to help each student succeed.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I am here not only to support you from start to finish, but to push you to your full potential as an applicant!

Biology

Biology

During my time as a paid tutor at NYU's University Learning Center, I tutored students for over 650 hours in college-level Molecular & Cell Biology, Genetics, General & Organic Chemistry, and Physics, in addition to leading official companion lectures to university courses. After this, I worked for over 2 years as a full-time Molecular and Cell Biologist at a Genetics lab at NYU Langone prior to matriculating to medical school. With a comprehensive background of both working professionally in Biology and teaching it to a variety of students, I love helping students master difficult topics and thrive!
College Counseling

College Counseling

As a first-time applicant and the first medical student/rising physician in my family, I leveraged strategic application approaches to apply to 25 MD programs and receive 8 interview invitations. Out of the 7 MD interviews I attended, I received admission to 6 programs. Throughout this time and for over 5 years, I have mentored applicants from a variety of backgrounds in these strategies as a peer mentor at AMSA and paid tutor at NYU. I have extensive experience in guiding applicants through how to approach medical student application from top-to-bottom: from brainstorming and writing compelling personal statements, to most efficiently approaching writing secondary applications, to approaching different interview formats with success!
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

In both my roles as a pre-medical tutor at NYU's University Learning Center and as President of the school's largest Pre-Medical student group (American Medical Student Association/AMSA), I guided students with different backgrounds through the process of writing compelling and competitive Personal Statements, Work & Activities, and Secondary Essays. As a medical student, I then served as a student interviewer for a "Top 3" school, reviewing Personal Statements and Secondary Essays from the perspective of a medical admissions team.
Genetics

Genetics

I have over 650 hours of tutoring experience helping students master Genetics as a paid peer tutor at NYU's University Learning Center. Further, I worked full-time for over 2 years in a human genetics/molecular biology lab as a Research Assistant to master the subject extensively before medical school. With a comprehensive background of both working professionally in Genetics and teaching it to a variety of students, I love helping students master difficult topics and thrive!

Interview Prep

Throughout my time at NYU and beyond, I have received over 3 years of extensive Interview Prep and Public Speaking training and experience through Leadership Development programs. These are the exact skills I needed to leverage during the MD Interview process, through which I was able to gain admission to 6 MD programs out of the 7 at which I attended interviews, and have since served as an medical student interviewer myself at my institution. With over 5 years of applicant mentorship experience, I am passionate about lowering the bar of entry to gaining these skills and helping students gain and hone them for success!
MCAT

MCAT

On my first attempt taking the MCAT, I achieved a 98th Percentile score on CARS (130) and 97th Percentile overall (130/130/129/131) for the exam. I did this through a rigorous, strategic, yet flexible study schedule and fine-tuned a number of test-taking and study strategies firsthand. Combined with my background of over 650 hours tutoring students one-on-one in test-taking and study skills at NYU's University Learning Center, I am passionate about helping students tackle challenging MCAT CARS passages in a systematic and effective way to achieve success!
