Hi! My name is Marianne, and I've been tutoring for over ten years! I have experience providing one-on-one tutoring, teaching classes, and working as a teacher's assistant. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a 3.9 GPA with a BS in Biomolecular Science and Spanish. In college, I led Organic Chemistry study groups for three years and was awarded Facilitator of the Year. I've also taught MCAT chemistry for the Princeton Review. Since graduating, I've continued to tutor math and science in addition to my full time job.
My goal as a tutor is to identify gaps in student's knowledge of the material and make sure they understand the basics so that they can apply the concepts to more difficult questions. I ask questions and look at previous exams and quizzes to gauge understanding. I feel strongly about creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and talking through their problem solving process!
I specialize in the following courses:
- General Chemistry (high school or college level)
- Organic Chemistry
- Prealgebra
- Algebra 1
Looking forward to working with you!
