I graduated from Swarthmore College in 2024 with a bachelor's in engineering and a minor in physics. I am currently working in center city as an engineer and will be starting my master's in computational and applied mathematics at Claremont Graduate University in the fall of 2025.
I have experience tutoring math at middle school and high school levels both professionally and at home. I have worked as a private math tutor throughout high school and college for local students, however I have spent an even greater number of hours tutoring my younger brother. He and I are six years apart and I have helped him through his math journey from kindergarten to 11th grade (his current grade). I have always been naturally gifted at math, but for my brother the subject was more difficult to understand. In my many years of tutoring him, I have learned how to gauge his current understanding of material and help him gain an understanding the conceptual side before moving on to examples and problems.
I work best with one-on-one tutoring, as I find it is much more difficult to cater to each student's needs in a group setting where different students may learn at different speeds and in different ways. The learning process does not always come with a definitive aha moment, nonetheless I find it very rewarding to see a student grow in their knowledge and confidence. I am available during non-work hours for in person lessons in Philadelphia area or for online tutoring. I am easy to reach and will get back to you quickly, so please reach out with any questions you may have!
