Bio

In middle school, I was a remedial student who almost failed math and English. However, by my senior year, I was the only student in my high school to have completed calculus at the local university, to be admitted to a few of the world's top schools, and to go on to Yale University. In middle school, I was a remedial student who almost failed math and English. However, by my senior year, I was the only student in my high school to have completed calculus at the local university, to be admitted to a few of the world's top schools, and to go on to Yale University. I attribute my academic improvement to using workbooks to answer math and English questions. While I used 20th-century tools then, now, I use computer applications that precisely identify the best skills a struggling student should practice.

With over 30 years of tutoring experience, I have honed my skills in various settings, from high school to private settings, schools, and tutoring centers. I have also played a pivotal role in establishing and enhancing tutoring centers in Chester, PA; Philadelphia, PA; New Haven, CT; Durham, NC; Baton Rouge, LA; and New Orleans, LA. My extensive experience spans students of all ages, from elementary school to senior adults, and across various subjects, including math, language arts, reading, economics, business, human resources, and theology. This diverse experience demonstrates my versatility and adaptability in different learning environments, ensuring that I can cater to your specific needs.

My academic qualifications are a testament to my commitment to learning and teaching. I hold a BA from Yale University and a Catholic Theology certificate from Notre Dame. I completed coursework for the Equal Employment Opportunity Studies at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University.

Elementary Math

More than 35 years ago, when I had enough of struggling in math, I turned to rote drills and problem-solving workbooks. I became a good math student and, around the same time, became a math tutor. I have tutored students from elementary school to senior adults. Drills and workbooks were 20th-century tools; now, I use computer applications that precisely identify the best skills a struggling student should practice.
