I'm Jasmine! I recently graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. As a student with learning difficulties (ADHD), I've gained knowledge and confidence from my tutors. Now, I would like to provide this service and my knowledge to students who also have learning difficulties or would like extra enrichment. My goals are to create a comfortable environment for academic growth, teach them skills they will use outside of the classroom or in future classes, and holistically prepare students for college if they would like this service. I am very accommodating to all types of learners (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and will provide resources, like study guides about topics, session notes and extra resources about topics they need more information on. My strongest subjects are ELA (English and Language Arts), essay writing and editing, creative writing, Spanish 1-4, conversational Spanish, geography, government, world history, American history, and social studies. My strongest skills which help my students are synthesizing information to make it less overwhelming and more understandable, using visual references (whiteboard), and providing additional study sheets or extra enrichment which can be extra materials to go over independently or homework.
I have been a tutor since January 2024 and I have had the pleasure of tutoring 15 elementary, middle and high school students in the following subjects: geography, conversational Spanish, Spanish 1-4, American history, the Constitution, world history, social studies, ELA and technical writing. The areas I concentrate on when I tutor are the student’s class work, test prep and study skills, and extracurricular practice which will add on to what the student already knows. I incorporate all of my skills based on how the student learns, I educate students very interactively and based on what works specifically for them.
