Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Hebrew Tutor

Hi, my name is Matt and my background is Psychology (Temple University) and working in Jewish Communal organizations for many years like the Anti-Defamation League, American Jewish Congress, and Jewish Community Center of Greater Philadelphia.

My dear father of blessed memory said that I should use my enthusiasm for Jewish education and history to become a teacher so I started doing that a long time ago. I have been teaching religious school, tutoring bar and bat mitzvah students, and leading youth groups and travel programs for many years. I connect well with every age student though I spent 25 straight years teaching 7th graders - History, Torah, Israel, Holocaust, Hebrew, etc. I have tutored many dozens of students toward becoming successful and proud at their bar and bat mitzvah ceremonies. I make it fun because my tutor was the opposite many years ago! I even once owned a comedy club. Many of my students remain in contact with me many years later.
