Hi, I'm Nikhil!
I'm a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine.
Medical school is challenging, but the process of applying and getting in is much harder. The stress you are feeling right now is a lot to bear, trust me I know, but I want to encourage you to keep working hard because there is light at the end of the tunnel! Getting through the MCAT is an important step in this process, and I am here to help.
I also believe in mentoring my students in the admissions process as a whole. I will help you write personal statements and secondary essays, fill out the AMCAS application, connect you with research and shadowing mentors at Penn if interested, advise you on clinical and volunteering endeavors, and overall act as a life-long mentor and supporter.
In terms of experience, I am currently tutoring students to take the MCAT this spring! During my undergrad at Dartmouth, I helped tutor students in organic chemistry and biology, helping them achieve As in these classes. I have experience studying with Kaplan, U World, Next Step/Blueprint, and AAMC MCAT preparatory materials. I am a student interviewer for admissions at the Perelman School of Medicine, and I am happy to share some of the criteria that committees look for.
For my current and previous students, I have experience creating tailored lesson plans and study strategies to help them succeed. I am different from other tutors in that my biggest strength is thorough explanations. I specialize in simplifying, categorizing, and organizing concepts in ways that are easy to memorize and apply. I will patiently explain topics as many times and in as many ways as it takes for you to succeed. I firmly believe that I understand how a learner’s mind works. That is why I offer the first lesson free as a trial for you to gauge whether you would like to continue!
MCAT Score: 6/19/2020, 521, C/P: 130, CARS: 130, B/B: 130, P/S: 131
