I believe that a good experience with one-on-one instruction can set students up for lasting success in all areas of their lives. I’m passionate about sharing the gifts of music with my students, and make sure that my lessons are always individualized and tailored to my students’ specific needs and goals.
I received my Master's degree in Cello Performance from the Royal Conservatory in the Hague, the Netherlands, where I studied with Larissa Groeneveld and Lucia Swarts (of the Netherlands Bach Society), and where I wrote my thesis on J.S. Bach's Suites for Solo Cello. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance from the Eastman School of Music, where I studied with acclaimed soloist Guy Johnston and held the principal cellist position of Eastman’s upper-level orchestra for two years. I’ve also had over a decade of private teaching experience working with students of all levels and ages. My students have gone on to hold principal positions in orchestras, win auditions, and rank at the top of their local levels. My extensive performing experience allows me to prepare students to achieve a variety of goals, whether that’s to earn a spot in their state orchestra or prepare for the next school talent show.
