Hi, I’m Cecilia! I am a professional cellist and experienced music teacher. I love to work with students of all levels and all ages — whether you’ve always dreamed of taking cello lessons or you’re a parent searching for fun and engaging music lessons for your child, you’ve come to the right place. No matter where you are on your musical journey, I’d love to work with you!
Private instruction is about more than just music — it’s about building a collaborative creative space where students have the opportunity to experience personal as well as musical growth.
I believe that a good experience with one-on-one instruction can set students up for lasting success in all areas of their lives. I’m passionate about sharing the gifts of music with my students, and make sure that my lessons are always individualized and tailored to my students’ specific needs and goals.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance from the world-renowned Eastman School of Music, where I studied with the acclaimed international soloist Guy Johnston and held the principal cellist position of Eastman’s upper-level orchestra for two years. I’ve had the privilege to work with cellists such as Alisa Weilerstein, Paul Katz, Johannes Moser, and more. I’ve also had over a decade of private teaching experience working with students of all levels and ages. My students have gone on to hold principal positions in orchestras, win auditions, and rank at the top of their local levels. My extensive performing experience allows me to prepare students to achieve a variety of goals, whether that’s to earn a spot in their state orchestra or prepare for the next school talent show.
I teach remotely and will be happy to work with you no matter where you are located (or how busy your schedule is!) Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to meeting you!
