I am a current fourth year medical student and have a huge passion for teaching and mentoring! I started tutoring in high school and have been a tutor ever since. I then attended Lehigh University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Health, Medicine, and Society graduating with the highest honors and a 3.90 GPA. I scored a 515 on my MCAT before starting medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. I am excelling in class honoring all clinical rotations and scoring over 265 on step 2 and I am now applying to family medicine residency.
I have experience tutoring in the subjects of high school AP biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus; undergraduate courses such as general biology and chemistry, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, cell biology, and public health. I also began teaching as a TA in Advanced Biochemistry II and Advanced Genetics. I am now a tutor for USMLE and anatomy. I also have experience working with undergraduate students applying to medical school helping with their primary application, personal statements, secondary application, and interview prep.
My style of teaching is to integrate content into an interactive, problem-solving lessons. Some examples of my lesson plans included a real-time online whiteboard 'draw it out' activity, case study explorations, knowledge application questions and discussion, and working through questions.
As a medical student, I have an extremely strong knowledge base and am confident in my ability to be a tutor in many subjects. I am excited to share my love of science with others and to continue my tutoring journey!
