I love tutoring because I work best in a one-on-one setting, and I feel you have to understand a person on a deeper level to be able to teach them in the best possible manner. Even when I did my student teaching, my favorite part was staying after to tutor students in a one-on-one scenario. The progress and satisfaction is remarkable, and I feel it truly makes an immediate and long term difference.
I have a BA in English - Secondary Education from Penn State Harrisburg, and I have a Master's in Education: Adult Education & Training from University of Phoenix. My teaching license is expired, but all of my clearances are up-to-date. I did not find a teaching job right out of college, so I fell into higher education instead. That has been my field for over five years now, but I want to be in a position where I can make more of a difference for the upcoming generation. I have tutored previously, and I realized that is what I am most passionate about.
