Mia is the BEST!

Mia is amazing, and my daughter agrees. My daughter has ADHD and challenges with executive function and recall, but Mia stepped in and gently assessed her needs- then they were off! Mia has a patient yet focused communication style and seems to know exactly how to grab my girl's attention, and keep it! Our household looks forward to tutoring sessions now- it is no longer a drag or a battle, but a time for building confidence and learning in fun ways. What I especially love about Mia is her honesty and the respect she shows my daughter during their sessions. Mia meets her where she's at and is both encouraging of my daughter's strengths but is quick to hold her accountable and practice what is being taught. Mia is conscientious about the students she commits to so that she can be fully present and have a positive impact. One of the best decisions...

Fantastic, intuitive tutor

Mia helps keep me on track and is great at explaining things in a way that I can understand. I have a lot of difficulty with book learning and Mia is patient and able to explain things in different ways to help me learn better.

tutor that is focused on real skill-building

My 10 year old doesn't like math. She also doesn't like reading. Combined, makes solving story problems especially challenging. Mia quickly assessed her weaknesses and is really working with her to build her skills vs. just helping her with her homework (which a previous tutor was doing). I can also tell that she is paying attention to what motivates my daughter. Not all kids have the same motivation. At the end of each session, Mia gives me an update and assessment of how it's going, which I really appreciate. I'm so glad we found her and I think my daughter is in great hands!

Intuitive, kind and knowledgeable

Mia is wonderful. She is kind and patient with not only my rising 3rd grader but also me while trying to navigate the new-to-me private tutoring world. Even online, she pays close attention to my son and notices when he gets a little restless, distracted or bored and immediately pivots accordingly. I'm so glad we connected with Mia so my son can discover that learning is fun & amazing and not a chore.

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

Mia is fantastic and a very active tutor. My son has only had a few sessions with Mia and he enjoys each session. She does an excellent job looking for gaps and learning issues. She reaches the child were they are at academically, socially and cognitively. After each session she provides feedback to the student and the parent to make sure that we are involved and knowledgeable of the progress. I am so happy we found Mia.

Great with children

Mia met with my younger cousin (8 y/o) who has ADHD, to go over multiplication facts. At the end of the lesson, my cousin was super happy with her performance and was not as scared of multiplying as usual. She was also able to keep her attention the entire time by using cats and dogs in problems, tailoring the lesson to the child's needs. I would highly recommend Mia if you are looking for a way to get your child up to speed, or pre-learn what's coming this year!
