Medical school tutor

General surgeon from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine class of 2019. During medical school I was a tutor for 4 years including USMLE test prep. Most effective tutoring sessions I found are one on one or small groups. Specifically for medical school, the best way to test prep is by doing practice questions every day then coming to tutoring sessions prepared with questions for topics to review. These topics can then be used to create future lesson plans or elaborations for the student.

My credentials include USMLE score of 241 and COMLEX step 1,2,3 with score of 790 which was the 95th percentile. As an osteopathic medicine doctor I have studied and tutored all relevant subjects for usual allopathic medical school as well as osteopathic medicine principles and osteopathic manipulation. Unfortunately OMM or OMT is difficult to teach remotely however I am willing to go over the principles and theory with any prospective students.

Tutoring experience includes during all 4 years of medical school, due to my achievement in coursework with admission to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society of maintaining a 3.5 or above GPA, I was invited to tutor all levels of medical students. This included small group of up to 4 students as well as individual tutoring. I believe that individual tutoring provides the best result as I can tailor the lesson plan to whatever the student needs help in whereas in group tutoring unfortunately its easy to get lost in the group, this is especially true for the classroom setting. Which is why many students pursue tutoring in the first place.

I am hoping to use my medical experience, tutoring background, and high academic achievement to assist other students in reaching their full potential.
