I am hopeful I will make your learning both satisfying as well as fun! I am a certified teacher in Pennsylvania and Texas. In addition, I hold two masters degrees from Wilkes University. One is in technology and the other is in leadership. I have taught middle school math and science for more than 20 years. I understand the mindset of this level of student. I have also tutored students in algebra and geometry. Having served as my school district's math specialist, I am familiar with the requirements needed to be successful on standardized tests. In addition, I have done extensive private tutoring and enjoy the satisfaction gained when my student "gets it!" My tutoring on Wyzant for the most part is online delivery. I am looking forward to this opportunity to help you, my future student.
My ability to listen and desire to understand you and where you might be stuck, make me an outstanding tutor. When your passion becomes your profession it hardly seems like work. This is my framework for teaching math to my students. I enjoy teaching and I enjoy math. As a former math specialist in my school district I am confident in my abilities to help you or your children. I have seen many students through to successful ends of their coursework and increased their understanding and competency of algebra 1. I look forward to doing the same for you!

I have a knack for "reading my students" and will not allow them to reach their frustration point. Although I also enjoy teaching higher level math, knowing that the foundational skills are often established in the elementary years, I am keen on making sure my students understand each skill, as it is often the basis for later understanding.
