About Sree

Bio

I have been actively involved in instruction as a volunteer tutor, a teaching assistant, an instructor, an adjunct lecturer or as a business trainer. My first experience began when I was an undergrad student in Engineering when I tutored kids in basic science and math.

I have been actively involved in instruction as a volunteer tutor, a teaching assistant, an instructor, an adjunct lecturer or as a business trainer. My first experience began when I was an undergrad student in Engineering when I tutored kids in basic science and math.

After joining a doctoral program in Marketing Communications, I taught students in Statistics, Programming, Advertising, Public Speaking, SPSS, Media and Marketing (and also tutored fellow graduate students in advanced statistics). I have published my research in academic journals and presented at conferences. I was a teaching assistant and adjunct lecturer for all 5 years of my doctoral program. I'm currently a guest speaker for two courses in statistics and marketing and a TA for an online course at two different universities.

After becoming a professional in the marketing research and analytics area, I continued to pursue my interest in teaching through conducting company training in Applied Statistics, Presentation Skills, Internet based Advertising, Integrated Marketing Communications, and Research Methods. Recently I have been a guest lecturer on the topics of Correlation, Regression, Anova and Cross-tabulation methods.

I love teaching and I enjoy helping students understand how they can become better at a subject. I have achieved my skills through hard work and not because I was gifted. I was not the student who stood first in the school or the district. I never gave up and persevered and I have seen success on account of that. I would like for my students to realize their aspirations and I want to help them get better at the skills they need.

Knowledgeable, patient, and willing to take the time

Sree came through in a crunch! I had a huge assignment in Time Series Analysis working with R. Sree gauged my knowledge and comfort level with the subject and proceeded to work through the topic, not doing it but, guiding and explaining as I arrived at the conclusions. After being turned away by multiple tutors due to the complexity of the work Sree accepted the challenge and arose to it. This dude is "The Best" If I could give more than 5 starts I absolutely would. I can not thank him enough. Sree should without a doubt be the first person on your list of tutors. I had a great experience working with my tutor for statistical programming in R. He was incredibly helpful and patient, especially when it came to understanding multivariate regression, OLS models, and other R-based statistical analysis topics. He explained concepts clearly and always made sure I fully understood not just how to do something, but why it worked that way. I really appreciated how flexible he was with scheduling and how much he cared about making the sessions productive and tailored to my needs. Variety and Depth of knowledge, skills, and an approachable teaching style

I had two sessions with Sree covering STATA and R in Epidemiology and Computational Biology. My expectations were that the focus would be on how to use the software. However, the questions Sree asked first led to a deeper discussion of what my learning goals and long-term objectives were. He asked about my background and familiarity with Stats and these two tools and why I was learning these two tools. Only then did he get into each of the specific topics. He related Stats concepts to Calculus, Linear Algebra and Computer Programming and Algorithms where appropriate, while always using Epi and Bio-Stats examples. I could ask him any clarification and express my thinking and get his measured feedback. He covered Bio-Informatics, Ecology, Business, Accounting, Environmental research, Pharmacokinetics, in addition to Epi and Bio-Stats to illustrate the key concepts. These sessions were such a great learning experience. I will recommend him as a tutor for any STEM subjects and related fields as his experience and knowledge will benefit everyone.
