Method of Instruction:
Openings: We will go through the two opening that I know best. The Vienna Game (white pieces) and the Caro Kann (Black Pieces). And all of the variations you might expect to face. I am open to learning new openings if the player insists on sticking to theirs. Although these are my wheelhouses when it comes to knowledge.
Game Analysis: I will go through the players Chess.com or Lichess account and analyze the players strengths and weaknesses and common habits that lead to either winning or losing.
Concepts: We will go through the core concepts of Chess. Including the Opening, Middle, and Endgame Phases. We will look at making a plan, defense, thinking how your opponent is thinking, etc.
Motivation: I am passionate about helping others on their chess journey and can not wait to see my students improve the way I have these last few years.
Personality: I am very laid back and objective. I understand that chess is a very hard game so mistakes are bound to happen. That's okay! I plan on correcting mistakes that may have you below the rating where you want to be. I want it to be fun for you. When I see that a student is doing something well I will be sure to be encouraging.
Experience: I currently am new to tutoring officially but I can say that I have helped others in my life with chess. My brother, my partner, and even my own chess tutors have learned a great ton from sitting down with me and discussing chess
I am confident that if you choose to choose me as your tutor you will not be let down because I care deeply about the success of my future students. As I stated earlier, Chess is a very hard game so I will be patient and encouraging. I look forward to meeting and coaching you!
