Hi! My name is Beth, mother to a teen son and an 11 year old daughter. I am a recently retired elementary education teacher (after 17 years) who has taught kindergarten, first, second, fifth and sixth grades! I had plenty of practice working with children with ADD/ADHD.

I have taught many inclusion classes in my years of teaching in Philadelphia. I have completed numerous IEPs on kids with ADD/ADHD. I have a lot of experience connecting with them including behavioral techniques to help achievement.

I tutor all components of Algebra 1 including polynomials, x and y intercepts, slopes, simplifying with exponents, absolute value and everything else in between.

I have taught kindergarten, first, second, fifth and sixth grade for 17 years. I am certified in Pennsylvania. I have successfully taught children to achieve high levels of success in all academic, social and emotional areas.

Social Studies was one of the academic areas that was required of all teachers in Philadelphia. I've taught it for all 17 years, on all different levels. I did lots of fun activities with it, including 3D projects and dressing up as characters we were studying.

In my 17 years of teaching, spelling and reading were always crucial. I've had many students struggle in those areas so I came up with fun ways to help out using games, story telling, etc. I also have many hands on materials to help out with reading and comprehension as well.

Writing

I am passionate about writing. So many kids do not know where to start. It incorporates so many aspects including phonics, grammar and organization. I have many great materials available to help out. I am definitely the one to help you out in this area!!!

Right on track

Using her own time, Beth prepared for her first session with my 6th grader and came prepared with a notebook filled with exercises and ideas to begin working on reading skills. My daughter felt so good about the lesson she is counting the days until her next session. Beth is a godsend.
