I am an experienced science and mathematics educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience, including extensive work with middle and high school students. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Grove City College. My classroom experience includes teaching Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Genetics, and other science courses, as well as mathematics and SAT/ACT preparation.

My approach to tutoring is built around understanding rather than memorization. I work to identify exactly where a student’s understanding breaks down, then use questions, examples, visual models, and real-world applications to help them build a stronger conceptual foundation. I have taught students with a wide range of backgrounds and abilities and have extensive experience designing inquiry-driven, hands-on learning experiences. At Cayman International School, I taught Conceptual Physics to students in grades 9–12 and redesigned math and science curricula to align with AERO and IB standards. At Episcopal High School, I taught Chemistry and Physics and also designed summer Biotechnology and Engineering programs for students in grades 5–8.

I also bring substantial experience preparing students for high-stakes exams. From 2004–2011, I taught for Kaplan Test Prep, where I was selected as one of fifteen instructors nationwide for its flagship MCAT program, later becoming a Teacher Trainer. I was also named Teacher of the Year for the Memphis Kaplan Center in 2006.

Whether a student needs help mastering the fundamentals, catching up in a challenging course, preparing for an exam, or developing confidence with a difficult subject, my goal is to make the material understandable, relevant, and manageable.
