Approved Subjects

Drums

Drums

I have played drums for over 20 years. Although piano and voice were my primary instruments, through my work with arranging and production I have come to know them well. I studied with John Sanfillipo, A Berklee grad in Bethlehem Pa. I use hand eye coordination and build the student from one drum at a time building on the kit, then to fills and different meters.
Ear Training

Ear Training

As a youth, i’ve had Zoltan Kodaly method drilled into me as well as melodic and harmonic dictation. Ear Training, sight reading/sight singing all go hand in hand for me. When I started at Berklee, I took an entrance exam and was placed directly into Ear Training 4. The most advanced class. I attribute Ear Training to my success as being hired as Cruise Ship pianist, theater pianist and just getting hired.
Guitar

Guitar

As I have studied music through the years and majored at Berklee, I have worked with many many guitarists who showed and taught me many things. I have studied the guitar as well as taught it right out of college since 1997 wrote for it, performed on it, and made recordings.
Piano

Piano

Played piano since 9 years old. Piano was my major at Berklee. I have performed for Cruise Ships, Theaters, Professional touring companies and hired extensively because of my sight reading skills. Been teaching piano for years.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

As I spoke in Ear Training. I believe sight singing, sight reading and ET itself all go hand in had. With sight singing I was taught primarily by the Zoltan Kodalt method and Melodia. Big time solfege buff.
Trumpet

Trumpet

The trumpet was my first instrument I learned ever and continued it through high school and college. In high school I switched to Sousaphone and then the french horn for a while. All through music school and a couple gigs here and there I still play and teach the Trumpet today. Great with beginners to intermediate
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

It started when I grew up in the boy choir in the 80's. Then in High School I attended all District, Region, State and All-East chorus festivals with a ranking in the top three each time. The highest ranking was #2 Tenor 1 on the East Coast in 1991. I have studies with many great teachers Monty Barnard of The Met, Craig Johnson and Tommy Camp at Berklee to name a few. I have been told that I can teach a rock to sing.
