Hello! My name is Michele and I am currently a full time elementary school teacher and I love to teach foundational skills to young students and those who might benefit from a review in order to fortify more advanced topics. Although my current focus is in grades K-8, I have many years of teaching high school up through adults as a tutor and experiential educator at local higher learning facilities.

Prior to formal elementary school teaching I was a tutor at a local community college and specialized in biological sciences, writing skills, and study techniques. Before landing at the community college, I worked with continuing education for adults at various local summer programs and developed outdoor, experiential learning programs for a nature center here in PA. I have been a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for Lancaster County and have a real love for learning and teaching others, meeting them where they are.

As your personal tutor, I believe in the benefit of one on one time to fine tune or comb through materials that may be challenging so you, the learner, can find a way to relate more comfortably with the subject. Connecting to the material makes it more accessible and less stressful so that when you meet it again, with another teacher or in another setting, you have your own skill set to say “oh, I’ve got this! I remember meeting you (subject matter)”! Those with learning challenges may also benefit from working with me as I have had several students find success as we developed plans that supported learning styles that were left or right of the middle. I look forward to using our time together to create an effective, engaging, and potentially lifelong method of learning success!
