Hello, I’m Amber! I’m a special education paraeducator currently working in an Autistic Support classroom with students ranging from 7th grade through age 21. My experience includes both one-on-one support in general education settings and specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom. Over the years, I’ve worked with students across English, Math, Science, Spanish, Art, Music, and Technology, which has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons, simplify complex concepts, and create learning strategies that fit each student’s needs. I am also pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree in Special and Elementary Education, further developing my skills to support learners of all abilities.
As a mom of five, I understand firsthand the challenges that come with homework, studying, and finding the right way to learn. My own journey helping two of my own children navigate learning disabilities taught me the value of patience, persistence, and creative problem-solving. That experience deepened my passion for helping students find strategies that truly work for them.
In addition to academics, I emphasize essential skills like organization, time management, and self-advocacy—tools that empower students far beyond the classroom. I believe learning should be encouraging and rewarding, not overwhelming. Every student is unique, and I pride myself on being flexible, compassionate, and resourceful in tailoring support. Whether through visuals, real-world examples, or breaking big ideas into smaller steps, I strive to make learning approachable and engaging.
I’d love the opportunity to bring that same energy and care into our tutoring sessions. Please feel free to reach out so we can create a plan that helps you or your child succeed!
