Songwriting,

Songwriting

I use techniques such as alliteration when writing lyrics as well as finding a song in a particular idiomatic style that appeals to me. Another technique I like to use is create the melody, then the bass line. This will insure a solid foundation for the other instruments. I am getting some nice results from my students. I have been writing songs for forty years and I am a publisher and songwriter with B.M.I. I have my own personal production studio. I am using "Studio One" Digital audio workstation. It is a great way to teach songwriting.
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

I studied voice at Duquesne University and privately with Sam Klingensmith at Accordworks. I do perform as a pianist/vocalist at country clubs and other venues. I believe in teaching a conscientious diaphragmatic breathing support as well as Italian and Germanic vowels, awareness of resonation and ear training, and interpretation.

Great Instructor!

Learning to keep rhythm. Still working on it, but Bennie is so patient and understanding of my time constraints on practicing. He's thoroughly knowledgeable on music theory and slowly walking me through learning the guitar at my own pace. Thanks Bennie!

Good teacher with experience

Bennie played song examples on his piano and sang examples to show the difference. Very nice, good teacher. He showed techniques he uses on writing his personal songs. He taught me about song Aliteration and why many pro's use this style as does he.

Outstanding Teacher and Mentor

Bennie is an outstanding teacher and mentor. He is so detailed and knowledgeable along with a great work ethic. He pushes you to find your own musical voice and expression with the theory that he is teaching. In my opinion that is a sign of a great teacher who encourages you to find you in music. Thank you Bennie

Last minute help

It was difficult getting started on zoom due to visuals but we made it work. I could see and hear him. Benny was clear and concise. He helped give some important tricks to ear training. These tricks will come in handy for the my next assignment. Thank you Benny.

I've been playing for as long as I can remember but Bennie is helping me organize and learn what I need to actually condense ideas and write songs finally - would highly recommend!

Knowledgeable and responsive tutor

Bennie is a very responsible and knowledgeable tutor. He reviewed the material and communicated with me before the lesson. My son learned a lot from voice to guitar performance and enjoyed every minute of the lesson.

Very knowledgeable tutor, patient and enthusiastic

He knows what he’s doing. In my past three lessons with him I’ve learned more than I had in the past six months of high school band. I am very thankful for the lessons I have had so far.

It was our first meeting. I felt very comfortable with him and am excited to see where this goes. We went over the basics as its been years since I did any singing.
