I am a 521 MCAT scorer and University of Pittsburgh graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and minors in Chemistry and Philosophy. I did not begin with a 521: after earning a 511, I completely reevaluated how I studied, reviewed practice exams, and approached passage-based questions. That process helped me improve by ten points and ultimately score in the 98th percentile, giving me firsthand experience with the frustration of a score plateau and the specific changes required to overcome one.

For 2+ years, I served as an undergraduate teaching assistant and peer educator, leading exam reviews and helping students understand metabolism, enzyme kinetics, molecular biology, protein structure, and experimental analysis.

My MCAT approach begins with diagnosis. I help students determine whether missed questions come from content gaps, passage interpretation, timing, answer-choice reasoning, or an ineffective review process. From there, we develop a focused plan using active recall, spaced repetition, targeted passage practice, and a detailed error-analysis system. I place particular emphasis on understanding why every incorrect answer is wrong and why the correct answer is better supported by the passage.

My neuroscience and clinical research experience has also given me extensive practice interpreting experiments, graphs, study designs, and unfamiliar scientific information: the same skills that many of the most challenging MCAT passages require. I especially enjoy working with retakers and students who understand much of the content but cannot translate that knowledge into consistent practice-test performance. I have previously worked with two students who scored a 506, now who are scheduled to take their MCAT with a 520+. Whether you are beginning your preparation, trying to break through a score plateau, or determining what went wrong on a previous attempt, I would be happy to help you build a clearer strategy and become more confident in your reasoning.

Approved Subjects

Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I served as a lead undergraduate biochemistry teaching assistant at the University of Pittsburgh, leading exam reviews and helping students work through challenging concepts and experimental questions. My expertise includes protein structure and function, enzyme kinetics, metabolism, bioenergetics, molecular biology, and the regulation and integration of biochemical pathways. I break complex processes into logical steps, use diagrams to connect pathways, and emphasize understanding mechanisms rather than memorizing isolated facts.
MCAT

MCAT

I earned a 521 on the MCAT, placing me in the 98th percentile, after developing a structured approach to content review, passage analysis, and full-length exam evaluation. My instruction incorporates active recall, spaced repetition, passage-based practice, error analysis, and individualized strategies for all four sections of the MCAT.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, completing advanced coursework in cellular, molecular, systems, cognitive, and behavioral neuroscience. My research experience has spanned computational neuroscience and clinical neurosurgery. I help students understand neuroscience by connecting molecular mechanisms with neural circuits, behavior, experimental findings, and clinical disorders rather than relying on isolated memorization.
