I believe that students learn best when they can make a connection with the content, and I work extremely hard to find ways to make those connections enjoyable. Whether assuming a historical identity, dressing like a historical figure, or using Percy Jackson to teach Greek mythology, school is meant to be fun while learning at the same time. In my classes, we emphasize how events connect as opposed to memorizing facts, and this helps students in analyzing history versus reciting it. For the last 6 years, I have taught AP European History, and it has been incredibly fun to teach a course at a college level and find ways to teach historical reasoning skills along with the content.
I look forward to tutoring students looking for some assistance, and I am typically pretty flexible with times for sessions.
