I am a recent Millersville grad with the class of 2017. I am deeply passionate about learning and helping students achieve more than they thought they were capable of. The best learning environment is one where the student is learning for learning's sake. When the light bulb moment happens for a student and they start to understand the subject that they struggling with, that's when a student becomes self-motivated to continue to dig deeper into what they are learning. Some students are able to do this in the traditional classroom, while others require a more personalized, one on one approach. Tutoring can be the spark that ignites a student's passion for learning, even in a subject they have hated up until that moment.
I love teaching, and helping students get to their "light bulb" moment is really what teaching is all about. Tutoring is the nature extension of teaching when a student is struggling and needs one on one support; or when they are studying for a big exam and need someone to help guide their review. Whatever the reason for needing a tutor, I am passionate about, and capable of, helping all students achieve their very best.
Being a great educator is a cross-discipline enterprise. As such, it's important to be knowledgeable across many different areas. Having read an extensive amount of philosophical writings, I am very confident in my knowledge of many of the themes and ideas presented across different areas of philosophy.
