I’m Amy, a certified English teacher committed to helping students build confidence and achieve their goals.
I earned my Associate in Graphic Communications and Printing Technology (2021) and my Bachelor’s in English (2022), from Millersville University. I completed a post-baccalaureate certification program at Immaculata University (4.0 GPA), earning Level I Instructional Certification in Secondary English. I passed the PRAXIS English Content exam (176) and Basic Skills Math (196). I’m currently pursuing master’s degrees in Education (Immaculata University, 4.0 GPA) and English (West Chester University, 3.78 GPA). I have been inducted into multiple academic honor societies.

At Sylvan Learning Center, I provided individualized and small-group instruction (ages 5–15) in reading, writing, fluency, math, study skills, homework support, and test preparation, strengthening my ability to differentiate instruction.
As a Day-to-Day and Building Substitute, I led small groups and full classrooms across subjects. As a Long-Term 12th Grade English Teacher, I taught five blocked classes over multiple months where I planned lessons, managed pacing, identified reteaching needs, and developed assessments. During student teaching, I instructed three blocked 7th-grade ELA classes, designing differentiated lessons for students reading from 2nd-12th-grade levels.
My approach begins with identifying strengths and growth areas. I use scaffolding to build mastery and confidence through structured practice, while integrating organization and study skills to foster independence. Although certified in English, I also support other subjects and have a strong interest in history and social sciences.
I am passionate about creating a supportive, structured environment where students feel comfortable taking academic risks and growing. I look forward to partnering with you to achieve y
