Currently, I am a full-time high school teacher, conveying knowledge to two different grade levels of 9th and 10th grade. For 9th grade, I teach Honors and General Education Ethnic Studies and for 10th grade, I teach AP and General Education World History. My journey began at DePaul University, where I learned the fundamentals of instruction at the secondary education level for social studies. With an Illinois social studies licensure, I continued my journey at the University of Pennsylvania, where I earned a Master of Science in Education, honing and sharpening my skills in teaching strategies, critical thinking, and data analysis.
My educational philosophy centers around providing equitable access to high-quality education for all students and learning backgrounds. With strong determination and a high-quality work ethic, I employ innovative teaching methods that cater to various learning styles. My approach to instruction has proven successful, as I've cultivated relationships with hundreds of students across Chicago's urban education. I foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages collaboration and critical discussions.
