Hi there, students and learners! My name is Omer. I'm an incoming PGY-1 Family Medicine Resident Physician. Let me start off by saying some things about myself. While pursuing the field of Medicine, I have spent the past several years tutoring Medical and Nursing subjects to my peers throughout college and Med school. After entering medical school, biochemistry, pathology and pharmacology became my strong points as I tutored my peers in post lecture sessions with my university's academic assistance program. Most of my tutoring sessions were catered towards improving knowledge gaps and enhancing content review which was vital in preparing students for their board exams and tests.

Over my years of tutoring I have continued to develop my skills as a tutor as I worked with many different kinds of learners. I specialize in working with high school to adult level learners and in working with these students it's very important to have an efficient methodology. I have learned to rapidly pinpoint the issues learners are having, provide a succinct solution to solve the problem, and to always be prepared with multiple methods of presenting the same material (catered to different types of learners: auditory, visual etc). Over time I have also mastered the skill of making concepts and facts more easily comprehensible and guiding students to making crucial connections between concepts.

As a tutor, I have seen the importance of connecting with the learners and meeting them at their level of understanding or confusion and building up from that point. I love teaching because I want to see my students excel in those same subjects that I loved learning and teaching when I was a student. My goal is for learners to be able to handle these subjects without getting overwhelmed and I am willing to work with them, provide them with resources, guides and learning strategies to help them reach their goals!

Please feel free to reach out and let's work together to achieve your success!!

Biology

Biology

Hi Parents and fellow students; I am a Medical Graduate having an extensive experience in teaching science subjects like Biology to my students in ways that are really easy and comprehensible to them. I can teach them and guide them in different ways which could really upgrade their grades in their tests. Feel free to contact me if you or your child needs help. Message me if your interested and it would be nice if you can tell me the concerned topics in Biology that you or your child are finding it difficult. See you soon!
Genetics

Genetics

I'm an M.D (Doctor of medicine) having an extensive experience in the field of medicine. During my Med School, I gained a lot of interest in studying subjects like Genetics and Biochemistry. And later on with the passage of time, they became my strong points. When studying for my USMLE Step 1 where a lot of concepts in genetics were involved like Mendelian pattern of Inheritance and the Hardy Wienberg equations, I gained more knowledge and insight and ways to identify a particular pattern of inheritance or disease so I think that I will be able to make my students understand and enjoy this subject in a better way.
Nutrition

Nutrition

I am a Medical Graduate and now an MD who has been studying and teaching Biochemistry and Nutrition in great details since the last 10 years since I was in Pre-Med School and then in Med School. After my graduation from Med School,I gave the USMLE step 1 that involved detailed concepts in Nutrition, which I believe has made me much capable of tutoring the subject with great ease to my fellow students and peers.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I gave my USMLE Step 1 Step 2 (score of 232) and had a higher performance in pharmacology in my Step 1 score report. My focus in pharmacology is as a Medical Graduate and MD, hence Drugs/Medications with their adverse effects, their working or mechanisms of actions, indications and contraindications are part of my knowledge that I impart onto my students with easy ways of understanding. I have years of experience in tutoring nursing students, PA students and Medical students at different levels with great ease. My approach to teaching pharmacology is based on these grouping and learning drugs based on these criteria. However each student approaches the learning of drug names and effects in different ways and my first step is to figure out the best learning method for each pharmacology student.
USMLE

USMLE

I am an M.D currently studying for my USMLE STEP 3. I had taken my USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 (score of 232) and received a higher performance on my score report for most of the higher subjects particularly Pharmacology/Pathology of the systems, Biochemistry, Microbiology. With the vast amount of clinical and basic knowledge required for USMLE as well as being aware of the type/pattern of questions that students face in their Steps, I have been tutoring many students with great ease and confidence. My approach is to give a detailed review of First Aid Page by Page, answering questions/concepts regarding the "what, where, how and why" type of questions for every topic/disease/syndromes or process along the chapters as I move along from one system to the other covering all 10 systems with my students. Over the years being a candidate for the USMLE step 1 and 2 as well as teaching students, has given me a good idea of their weaknesses and difficulties in diagnosing diseases that sound similar in clinical presentation. As I'm working in improving the concepts with my students, I expect them to be working on Uworld questions. In this way, once I'm done with covering all of the material, they are also done with the questions from Uworld.

Smart, Patient, Effective Tutor!

Omer has been a Godsend so far. I’m studying for my Step 1 Exam and I did not realize how many gaps there were in my recall, foundational knowledge, FA, and UWorld review prior to signing up with Omer. He goes through every page of FA with me line by line. He gives me amazing differentials to get my neurons firing on all cylinders. Omer is extremely well prepared for our sessions, which keep me focused on what I need to know. He is a good natured guy who knows when you’re struggling on a subject and reassures, reinforces, and reviews those weak areas with you without any judgement. He gives me a clear direction for my studying and helps keep me on that path. I’m really grateful that I found him here on Wyzant and I can guarantee that he will give you ever penny’s worth in all of your sessions. He has every quality necessary to be a great tutor and will be an invaluable resource on your journey to acing Step!

One of the best tutors I’ve had

Omer was honestly one of the best tutors I’ve had. He explained concepts in a clear and concise way that made the material so much easier to understand. His teaching style was incredibly effective, and it genuinely helped me grasp the course content on a deeper level. What stood out most was his ability to break down complex topics—especially in differentiating diseases—by creating helpful comparison charts. He also provided valuable mnemonics and strategies in pharmacology that made memorization and retention much more manageable.

nice guy but will bail on you

Omer contacted me to be my usmle step 1 tutor and we agreed on a specific time to meet daily and he sent me a 3 month timeline that he was going to use while preparing me for step 1. Suddenly, he started delaying our classes by 10 minutes, then 30 minutes, then 1 hour... and then he told me he booked someone else in for our original time and that he was no longer available and that he recommended a different tutor. He wasted my time and disrupted my step 1 preparation. If you are a serious student and don't have time to waste, be careful he may bail on you all of a sudden

Very Knowledgeable and Can Teach

Omer is great! He goes page by page in First Aid and teaches the material from the material in the book and adds on clinical reasoning and multisystem principles. For areas I have continuously struggled with, Omer simplified them in a way that makes sense. I am so glad I found him and am working with him for Step 1 preparation.

Knowledgeable Encouraging Tutor

Omer worked with me on a tight deadline and made the material concise, easier to understand, and more memorable. He does a great job of answering questions and is well worth his rate. I am very grateful to have found a tutor who is as easy to work with and knowledgeable. I can’t say I would be passing pharmacology in PA school without him.
