I had never used this tutoring site before and I am so happy that my first experience was with Katie! From her first message to me I could tell she was going to be extremely supportive and patient. Anytime I sent her materials/problems I needed explained before our sessions she came prepared with those materials already pulled up and did an awesome job going over them. Katie is committed to instilling confidence in her students no matter how much they think they are struggling which was something I really needed. She went above and beyond for me and even answered an orgo-related question when we were not in session and I had an upcoming exam. Katie truly wants all of her students to leave the session with their own independent understanding of the concepts discussed. She is so intelligent and has the ability to adjust her teaching methods to accommodate individual students and their situations. She is so friendly and always brought positive energy to our sessions- another thing that is very important to me as a premed student!!! She is down to earth and funny while able to keep students on task the entire session. I found it extremely beneficial when she would give me the opportunity to draw out problems myself with her guidance so we could solidify my own understanding of the material. Katie listens to her students concerns and fully understands where the material in these high level science courses can become challenging. She encourages her students not to be intimidated by the material and provides the skills needed to break it down in a way that makes sense and can be applied on assessments. She is personable and compassionate and I wish I started meeting with her earlier-cannot recommend enough!!!!!!!
