I hold an M.S. in Chemistry from Villanova University and a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Ursinus College, where I graduated magna cum laude. I have several years of hands-on research experience in chemistry and biochemistry, including protein purification, enzyme kinetics, molecular biology, spectroscopy, HPLC, and structural modeling. I also have professional experience in biopharmaceutical method development and validation, so I can help students connect textbook concepts with real laboratory applications.
For approximately 1.5 years at Villanova, I served as a Teaching Assistant for General Chemistry and Bioanalytical Chemistry. That experience taught me that students often need the same concept explained in different ways. I focus on finding exactly where a student is getting stuck, then breaking the material down clearly and working through problems step by step.
I tutor General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics, and Microbiology. I can help with conceptual understanding, homework, problem solving, exam preparation, laboratory material, and building the foundation needed for more advanced science courses. I especially enjoy helping students understand the “why” behind a concept rather than simply memorizing formulas, pathways, or terminology.
My goal is to make difficult material manageable without oversimplifying it. I am patient, analytical, and direct, and I want students to leave each session understanding not only the problem in front of them, but also how to approach the next one independently. I tailor sessions to each student’s goals and learning style.
