Chemistry can be one of the most challenging courses in college, but I've found that many students don't struggle because they aren't capable—they struggle because nobody has explained the concepts in a way that truly makes sense. My goal is to help students build understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills that last beyond the next exam.
I hold a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and have nearly a decade of college-level teaching experience. During my career, I served as a Teaching Assistant at Lehigh University and later taught chemistry as an Assistant Professor at DeSales University, Moravian University, and Albright College. I have taught approximately 300 students ranging from non-science majors taking their first chemistry course to advanced chemistry students. General Chemistry is my specialty, and I particularly enjoy helping students who feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or convinced they "just aren't good at chemistry."
My teaching philosophy is simple: understand the concepts first, then the calculations become much easier. During sessions, I work through problems step-by-step, provide immediate feedback, and explain difficult topics in multiple ways until they click. Students often describe me as patient, encouraging, and approachable, while also appreciating that I challenge them to truly understand the material rather than memorize formulas. Whether you're preparing for an upcoming exam, trying to improve your grade, or looking to build a stronger foundation for future coursework, I would be happy to help you achieve your goals.
