I'm Nicholas! I graduated with an AAS in Computer Networking and System Administration from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in 2022. Tutoring is important to me on a personal level because I know firsthand how transformative the right support can be. I'm Nicholas! I graduated with an AAS in Computer Networking and System Administration from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in 2022. Tutoring is important to me on a personal level because I know firsthand how transformative the right support can be. Growing up, there were times I felt completely lost - not because I couldn't understand the material, but because I didn't have someone to guide me through it in a way that made sense to me. That changed when I met a teacher who took the time to really listen, break things down without judgment, and help me believe in myself. That experience stayed with me and sparked a desire to be that person for someone else.

During my senior year, I served as a peer tutor, working closely with freshman students to support their understanding of technical problem-solving and core networking concepts, while also performing administrative tasks for the teacher. Each lesson is introduced in an engaging way. We then complete guided practice together to cement the subject matter. Finally, I check my students' understanding by giving them independent exercises. I like to start each session by connecting the topic to real-world scenarios to spark interest and provide context. From there, I offer step-by-step instruction and always include time for hands-on practice. I adapt my approach depending on the subject matter and the unique needs of each student.

For the past three years since graduating, I've been tutoring local elementary school students, introducing them to foundational scientific and technological principles as well as basic English, with a focus on proper grammar and developing a broad vocabulary. My approach blends visual learning tools, such as educational cartoons, scientific imagery, and hands-on experiments, to make abstract concepts more tangible.

My goal is to support students in every way I can. I'm always open to feedback to improve sessions. I'm quick to respond and happy to answer any questions. Please reach out to learn more!
