I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Medical Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology, where my coursework combined the arts and sciences, including human gross anatomy, biology, microbiology, general and analytical chemistry, and surgical illustration. This training gave me both a deep understanding of complex subjects and the ability to explain them visually and clearly to different audiences. I also have extensive experience with traditional and digital art techniques, including drawing, painting, and design software, which I have taught to students of various ages.
My teaching experience spans a wide range of ages and settings. I have taught students ages 5–15 at The Art School of NEPA, worked as a teaching assistant for a freshman 2D Design class at RIT, and created educational materials for science and healthcare topics. These roles have involved both classroom and one-on-one instruction, allowing me to adapt my approach to suit different learning styles, whether that means breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, providing hands-on demonstrations, or integrating visual aids to reinforce understanding.
Currently, I am signed up and approved to tutor with Grade Potential and serve as a substitute teacher through Kelly Services for three school districts, covering all grades during the upcoming school year. This work continues to strengthen my adaptability, classroom management skills, and ability to connect with learners of all ages. My goal as a tutor is to create an encouraging, engaging environment where students not only understand the material but also feel confident in their ability to succeed.
