I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History and am certified to teach grades 7–12. Over the past four years, I have taught in secondary classroom settings, working with students across a range of ability levels and academic needs. My background in history required extensive research, analytical writing, and primary source interpretation, which has shaped the way I teach students to think critically, construct strong arguments, and write clearly and confidently.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have served as a Learning Support teacher, where I worked closely with students who needed individualized instruction and academic intervention. I have experience supporting at-risk youth and understand how important patience, structure, and encouragement are in helping students build both skills and confidence. My teaching experience has included helping students strengthen reading comprehension, improve essay writing, develop effective study habits, and break down complex assignments into manageable steps.
Because I have taught a tested subject, I also have experience preparing students for standardized assessments. I understand how to balance content mastery with test-taking strategies, helping students feel prepared rather than overwhelmed. My approach is structured but supportive, I aim to meet students where they are, build on their strengths, and help them develop the independence and confidence they need to succeed.
