My name is Nicole R. My family is my greatest blessing and my greatest achievement. With their love and support, I graduated Magna Cum Ladue with a BA in English and a secondary education concentration. If I could make my schedule, writing classes would fill my day. Since I can remember, writing has provided an outlet and a means of expression in my life. Seeing that in my students inspires me to become a better teacher and a better person.

My career began in the early childhood environment, as this worked well while raising my children. In this part of my journey, I worked with preschool children and their families to help with literacy and life skills. Although I enjoyed this part of my life, I knew that working with older students was my calling. Currently, I teach English 10, dual enrollment Composition, and dual enrollment Advanced Research Writing. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught students in grades 7-12. I have advised different grade levels, the Literature Club, Poetry Out Loud, the school newsletter, and the yearbook. I also have coached softball and still coach basketball. Additionally, I am working with a group of 5th-grade students to help them publish their elementary newspaper. I specialize in helping others improve their writing skills to create a more direct style. However, I stress the need to remain unique in their approach to composition. I utilize writing workshops and individualized instruction to create a learning environment where students feel their time is valued and respected. Today’s technology allows this type of learning to work well in a classroom setting and a virtual setting. I truly enjoy working with my students and watching them learn. Please contact me with any questions and to schedule a lesson.
